The 18-year-old played his role in the Spanish Under-19s triumph in the European Championships earlier this summer, and is regarded as one of the more talented young midfielders in Spain.
However, he only has one year remaining on his current deal with Betis, and the club are worried that they may well lose him for nothing next summer.
As a result, that has alerted Arsenal according to the Spanish publication, as although Betis remain desperate to tie him down to a long-term deal, they might be forced into recouping something now instead.
Whether or not Gunners boss Arsene Wenger makes an official move remains to be seen, but the claims in Spain suggest that they will be monitoring the situation closely.
