Brace yourselves Arsenal fans, this is probably the most uninspiring transfer story you’ll hear today…
The Gunners are interested in signing Scottish keeper Craig Gordon a free transfer this summer, reports Football Direct News.
The 31-year-old stopper has been without a club since 2012, after Sunderland released him at the end of his contract. Injury problems have dogged his recent career, but the player himself is keen to regain fitness and earn a contract with a new club.
Lukas Fabianski is leaving Arsenal on a free transfer come the end of the season, and Arsene Wenger will need to find a suitable backup for Wojciech Szczesny. As a result, Gordon is expected to be offered a trial, with the chance of a permanent deal should he impress.
However, he hasn’t enjoyed an injury free season since 2007/08, and doubts remain over whether he’ll ever be able to find the form that once made him the Premier League’s most expensive goalkeeper.
