Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is interested in making a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, according to reports.
The Gunners are short of attacking options following the departure of Lukas Podolski to Turkish giants Galatasaray, and Daily Star reports Wenger is ‘weighing up’ a bid for the Bosnia & Herzegovina international.
With former Manchester United man Danny Welbeck struggling with a knee injury, much of the reliance for goals will fall to Olivier Giroud, and Arsenal are understood to be keen on taking some of the pressure of the Frenchman.
According to the report, Serie A giants AS Roma are also keen in the 29-year-old, but it’s believed he wants to remain in the Premier League.
After already dropping down the pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini, the arrival of Raheem Sterling will make the battle for a starting spot even tougher for Dzeko.
Dzeko has scored 50 goals in 130 Premier League appearances for the cashed-up City and would be a solid addition to the Gunners should Wenger pursue the player.
