Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could make a play for Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho, according to reports.

The Gunners had been linked with a move for Juventus star Arturo Vidal, however The Sun on Monday reported that the deal was not complete and there was no interest from the North London club in the Chile international.
Instead, the London Evening Standard reports Wenger could make a play for Carvalho, who has starred during the current UEFA Euro Under-21 competition.
Carvalho is a highly sought-after talent, and Arsenal are believed to be just one of a number of top European clubs interested in the 23-year-old.
Daily Star reports Sporting Lisbon rates the defensive midfielder at £20m, and Arsenal will face stiff competition for his sigature with Manchester United and Chelsea also believed to be interested in the player.
Carvalho made 28 appearances for Sporting Libson last term, helping the club to a third-placed finish in the Portuguese top flight.
