Serge Gnabry has the option of competing for Germany or the Ivory Coast…
Arsenal’s teenage prodigy Serge Gnabry has selected to play international football for Germany rather than the Ivory Coast, ESPN reports.
The 18-year-old has made five Premier League starts this season, showing glimpses of his undeniable talent for the Emirates club.
He’s represented Germany at every youth level, but his father Jean-Hermann played international football for the Ivory Coast, and there were questions which nation the younger Gnabry would choose to play for.
“Since I have played for the Germany youth teams, it is no question for me that I want to play for Germany by any means. I hope that I can make the leap into the first team,” Gnabry told German publication Die Welt.
Ganbry is not expected to feature this evening against Bayern Munich, but still believes his side could pull off a shock result.
“We have respect for Bayern as the title holders. But that does not mean that we are not capable of throwing them out of the competition,” he added.
