Gunners new-boy wants chance to prove himself as a striker.
Arsenal’s new signing Danny Welbeck has made it perfectly clear that he sees himself as a striker and wants an extended run upfront at his new club, according to the Times.

The 23-year-old England international, who shone as a centre-forward for Roy Hodgson’s side as they beat Switzerland this week, has often played out of position on the flank so far in his career, but feels he is best suited to playing as the main striker.
Although Welbeck has not yet proven to have the best record in front of goal, he insists that he has the ability to improve his consistency in that position, and that the goals will come with regular playing time and confidence.
“Once I get into the box and get the opportunities I have got faith in my ability, ” he said.
“It is good for any footballer to get a run of games and that’s definitely what I need. You become more confident and play much more at ease.”
