Wenger doubts former Manchester United boss will remain in retirement.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he would not be surprised if his former adversary Sir Alex Ferguson made a shock return to management within six months.
Ferguson retired this summer after 26 seasons in charge of Manchester United and has insisted he will never return to management.
But Wenger has his doubts, claiming he would not ‘rule out’ Ferguson making a shock return.
“In six months we will know more about that,” said Wenger.
“You cannot rule it completely out. It is difficult to take a drug for 30 years and suddenly get rid of it.”
Ferguson’s successor David Moyes has made a troubled start to life at Old Trafford, with United trailing league leaders Arsenal by eight points after as many matches.
