Mertesacker and Gibbs both available to Arsene Wenger ahead of Spurs clash.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been handed a significant boost ahead of this weekend’s huge North London derby at White Hart Lane, report the Telegraph, with defensive duo Per Mertesacker and Kieran Gibbs both expected to be fit to return to action against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday lunchtime.

Mertesacker and Gibbs were both left out of the midweek League Cup defeat to Southampton at the Emirates Stadium due to minor injuries, but are almost certain to return to the line-up for what is probably Arsenal’s most important match of the season so far.
Mathieu Flamini is also fit to feature according to the report, but is more likely to offer cover to Arsenal’s threadbare full-back positions, rather than in his natural holding midfield rule.
The likelihood is that Arsenal will start teenager Calum Chambers at right back, with Gibbs returning on the left and Mertesacker resuming his solid partnership with Laurent Koscielny in the centre.
