3) Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)
Arsenal are seemingly intent on reuniting themselves with one of their former players this summer, even if it isn’t Cesc Fabregas. Mexican forward Carlos Vela had an underwhelming first spell in north London as a youngster, but he has since blossomed into one of La Liga’s best attacking players with current club Real Sociedad. With a superb record of 21 goals and 13 assists this season, Vela certainly now looks to be a player who could be an improvement on current Arsenal front-man Olivier Giroud, and Wenger seems keen on activating a buy-back clause in his contract with the Basque club, which could see him return to the Emirates Stadium for as little as £3.5m. It remains to be seen, however, if the 25-year-old himself is keen on playing in England again, and it is thought that Arsenal will most likely re-sign the player on the cheap with the view to then selling him on for a profit after his market value has soared in recent times.
