18. Marouane Fellaini, Manchester United – £27.5m
The signing of Fellaini on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2013 smacked of desperation from then manager David Moyes and new chief executive Ed Woodward.
Moyes has since lost his job and Fellaini’s predicted doom at Old Trafford has been proven with some woeful performances to date.
17. Stevan Jovetic, Manchester City – £22m
Was considered quite the coup after impressing with Fiorentina, but a spate of injuries has made the Montenegrin’s first season in English football extremely tough.
Admittedly has had little chance to prove himself as yet, but with competition so fierce at the Etihad Stadium Jovetic may never get to.
