16. Victor Wanyama, Southampton – £12.5m
The success of Mauricio Pochettino’s side this term has clearly not be down to their expensive signings as Wanyama has also struggled.
The Kenyan has spent most of his time when on the pitch getting told off by the referee, but at 22-years-old has plenty of time to improve.
15. Roberto Soldado, Tottenham Hotspur – £26m
Tottenham actually broke their club record transfer fee three times last summer when splashing the cash after receiving a world record £85.3m for Bale.
Yet like Lamela, Soldado has also struggled to adapt to life at White Hart Lane, although that may be more to do with the north Londoners’ system than the Spaniard’s lack of talent.
