‘Le Sulk’, signed for £500k in 1997 and sold for £23m two years later, remains arguably Arsene Wenger’s finest piece of business but Anelka has frequently returned to haunt his former boss. The Frenchman’s most decisive contribution against his old club came as he netted a brace in Bolton’s 3-1 win over Arsenal in November 2006, which included a 25-yard screamer. He also scored in Chelsea’s 4-1 win at the Emirates in May 2009 but his other three goals against the Gunners came in defeats.
