The £42.5m signing was injured during Arsenal’s 2-0 loss against Chelsea in October, and was ruled out for at least the remainder of 2014.
With rehabilitation going well however, the German World Cup winner is hoping to return to action sooner than expected.
“I am working every day to get myself fit and I am on the right path now,” he said.
“It won’t be much too much longer before I am back on the pitch.
“I hope to be back training with the whole team again as soon as possible.”
Ozil may not have hit the ground running at the Emirates like so many hoped he would, but with the Gunners suffering their usual abundance of injuries he will be a welcome re-addition to the side.
