Arsenal have yet to complete a first-team signing this summer, but with the squad badly needing improvements at right-back, holding midfield and up top – Arsene Wenger is likely to enter the transfer market before next season begins.
Here’s how we reckon his 23-man Champions League squad could look in 2014/15 if he secures some of his major targets.
Goalkeepers:
Wojciech Szczesny
The Pole is expected to continue between the sticks as Wenger’s first-choice following a promising campaign last time around.
Guillermo Ochoa
The Mexican is available on a free, and could arrive at the Emirates to compete with Szczesny for the no.1 spot – now Lukasz Fabianski has joined Swansea.
Damien Martinez
On loan Italian Emiliano Viviano will not be signed permanently, meaning Argentine reserve keeper could be the second choice backup.
