Arsenal did not make any moves at the end of the transfer deadline, but Manchester United made a relatively significant signing in Monaco striker Anthony Martial.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was complimentary of Martial as a player, but he pointed out that Man United paid a large amount of money for him.
“Martial scored 11 goals in the French championship – that sums it up well. Martial is a huge talent – he’s 19 years old,” Wenger said, according to the Daily Mail.
“The investment is absolutely huge as well. It shows you that there’s not many players in the world who can strengthen these teams.”

If Martial gets even close to living up to his hype, he will prove to be a bargain at £36m, as he has been dubbed the next Thierry Henry.
However, Martial will be even more expensive if there is any truth to Wenger’s comments about the price rising to £59m, based on appearances.
“What happened last night [Tuesday] with Monaco, who sold Martial to Manchester United for 80 million Euros, I’ve heard,” Wenger said.
Martial broke out in the 2014-15 season for Monaco, scoring nine goals in 35 appearances. However, his experience is limited with just 29 starts over the course of his three-year career.
