Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finally appears to be fit again after almost two months on the sidelines and has returned to training but, Wenger says, he will not be considered for Monday night’s game due to a lack of match fitness. However, an update on Mikel Arteta, who has been out of action since Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in November, was less positive and Wenger was particularly evasive on a specific date when the Spaniard would return to action.
Speaking in his press conference, Arsenal’s official Twitter account quotes the Frenchman as saying: “He’s making progress week by week but he needs more time.”
