Wenger was said to be furious at Szczesny’s lapse in discipline, but has informed the Pole that the matter is now closed following a hefty £20,000 fine – as long as he does not reoffend.
Gunners players are said to have welcome their manager’s hardline approach, with some feeling that Wenger had not been tough enough on lapses in discipline in the past.
