Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confessed that perm-crocked midfielder Abou Diaby could be in line for a new deal with the club despite only making one appearance so far this season, the Metro reports.

Diaby has been much a forgotten man in recent seasons, making just 22 first team appearances in the past four years, but has stayed on the club’s payroll regardless.
And now Wenger has incensed the Gunners faithful by hinting that the luckless Frenchman could be set to stick around for a little while longer by offering him a longer deal.
“I had a chat with him and told him how I can envisage the future,” said Wenger.
“He has to make a decision. Of course he understands completely that he has to perform and to show that he can be present on a consistent way.
“I will see where we go from there. I wouldn’t like to go into details, we have to meet again to see where we go from what I told him.”
The 28-year-old linked up with the Gunners back in 2006 when he signed on from French side Auxerre and began life in London as a genuine hot prospect.
However, a series of injuries took their toll on his body and have thus limited him to making just 180 appearances in all competitions.
He managed to pick up 14 caps for the French national side during his time as well.
