Arsenal player ratings vs Monaco – Olivier Giroud stars, but striker’s heroics are in vain
Despite the Gunners winning 2-0 on the night thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey, the French side still managed to pass through to the next round on away goals.
And coach Jardim insisted that he had no interest in shaking Wenger’s hand at full time after he was snubbed during the first leg.
“I think it was disrespectful. Right now we’re celebrating and we think Arsenal did not show enough respect during the first leg,” he said.
“I think we deserve this qualification. We managed to take advantage of winning the first leg and in the second leg Arsenal scored two goals. But it is deserved.”
