Ligue 1 giants could make Bayern raid.AS Monaco are reportedly considering a surprise bid for Bayern Munich and Netherlands winger Arjen Robben, according to French source Le 10 Sport.
The mega-rich Ligue 1 club are possibly set to lose some big names in Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez this summer, with Real Madrid hot on the trail of both players, and will look to bring in some big-name recruitments in their place.
Monaco spent heavily on signing the likes of Falcao and Rodriguez just last summer, in a sensational transfer window which also saw the likes of Joao Moutinho and Geoffrey Kondogbia arrive at the club, and more players of this calibre could join again this year.
Robben has been one of Bayern’s best players in recent years, reaching some of the best form of his career at the Allianz Arena after previous spells at Real Madrid and Chelsea had gone less successfully.
The Dutchman has also been a star performer at this summer’s World Cup and could still help Louis van Gaal’s side come third in this weekend’s playoff match against host nation Brazil.
It seems unlikely that Bayern would allow Robben to leave, with Mario Mandzukic already joining Atletico Madrid and Toni Kroos also heading for the exit as he nears a switch to Real Madrid.
