AS Monaco have been linked with a move for Arsenal attacking midfielder Santi Cazorla as a replacement for James Rodriguez, according to CaughtOffside.
The Ligue 1 big-spenders could table a bid for the 29-year-old Spaniard after having just spent the weekend in north London for the Emirates Cup, which saw them come out victorious in a 1-0 win over the Gunners.
Still, Monaco remain in need of creativity and flair in attack after seeing star player Rodriguez leave for Real Madrid in a £63m deal earlier this summer, with the player’s stunning World Cup form making it too hard to possibly keep big clubs away from him in this transfer window.
The Colombian international had only been with Monaco for one season, but contributed 10 goals and 12 assists to their cause last term, and Cazorla’s abilities could help fill that role for the French side this season.
Atletico Madrid have also been linked with the former Malaga man this summer, and it may be that Arsene Wenger is ready to let him go after recent links with a move for exciting Porto youngster Juan Fernando Quintero.
