Midfielder Kevin Strootman has been linked with a £30m move.
The hopes of Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United of signing AS Roma playmaker Kevin Strootman in the January transfer window appear to lie in tatters, with the Italian side’s general director Mauro Baldissoni hitting out at the rumours that have linked the Dutchman with an English move according to the Express.

Strootman has been superb for Roma since making the move to the club from the Dutch Eredivisie, despite an injury decimating his 2014, and recent rumours have suggested that Chelsea have stolen a march on United by moving in with a £30 million bid.
If these comments from the Roma camp are anything to go by, however, it seems as though Strootman will be staying put at the Stadio Olimpico:
“Our president has already spoken about this and he gets angry with the rumours that link him to Manchester United.”
“Our policy is that of investing in players that have quality but have room for improvement.”
“Kevin is a young player with experience, and we want to build our future with players like him.”
