The Kevin Pietersen English fans, generally, love and bowling attacks hate made his presence known against at Old Trafford, with a swashbuckling ton in the first innings.

After starting slowly, Pietersen pulled out the full range of shots as he took on the Australian attack,, most notably Nathan Lyon.

It will come as a relief for England coach Andy Flower that Pietersen found form after a barren four innings before it, which yielded  just 14, 64, 2 and 5.
