2) Jack Wilshere
A slightly controversial choice perhaps, especially given his recent off-the-pitch antics on holiday, but Arsenal youth product Jack Wilshere could be their modern day answer to Tony Adams if he can clean up his act and find more consistency to fulfill his top potential.
The 22-year-old has Arsenal in his blood and would surely take the role of captaincy very seriously indeed if chosen.
Still, he is one of the younger members of the squad and may be best considered as a candidate for the future, with his place in the side not currently guaranteed, particularly with his niggling injury problems.
