Chelsea have been occasionally linked with Khedira this summer, most recently by the Daily Express – who admitted that the Blues hopes of signing the German were virtually nil.
Jose Mourinho should not be too disappointed, as his current midfield already looks fairly comprehensive in its supremacy. The signing of Cesc Fabregas, who has slotted in perfectly alongside Nemanja Matic, suggests that Khedira would struggle to earn a place in the Stamford Bridge team, while his wage demands are much too high for a fringe player.
