Aston Villa are preparing to make a bid for striker Charlie Austin, according to the Daily Mirror.
This marks an ideal situation for Aston Villa, as they are on the verge of losing superstar striker Christian Benteke to Liverpool.
Liverpool have met the Villans’ £32.5m release clause, which will leave them with no choice but to sell the Belgian international.
Fortunately, 26-year-old Austin offers plenty of talent of his own.
He has scored 35 goals in the past two seasons for Queens Park Rangers, who were relegated from the Premier League after finishing in 20th place.
Austin scored 18 in his first season in the Premier League, and he was able to do so in 35 Premier League appearances.
Aston Villa also has a relatively cheap asking price working in their favor, as QPR are only requesting that they receive £15m in return for selling their star striker.
However, Aston Villa are facing plenty of competition for Austin from other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
