Christian Benteke, Forward – 5/10
Whether it was by Arsenal’s design or just by accident, Benteke found himself far away from the ball for the duration of the game. Nonetheless, he made the most out of what Arsenal gave him and came close on several occasions to getting a decent shot on goal. But the lack of support from Charles N’Zogbia and most of the midfield meant he was usually working by himself against three or more Arsenal players – not an ideal situation.
Kieran Richardson, Defender – 6/10
One of the only defenders for the Villans worth a nickel after that awful performance, Richardson was in the wrong place at the wrong times as the majority of goals the club gave up were away from him. Ultimately the strange decision by Tim Sherwood to substitute him at 68′ did nothing one way or another.
