Paul Lambert determined to keep hold of Ron Vlaar.
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has dismissed any speculation that the club could be tempted to cash in on out-of-contract duo Ron Vlaar and Fabian Delph when the transfer window reopens, report the Mail, despite the fact that Arsenal and Manchester United have been strongly linked with the Dutchman and Liverpool with England international Delph.

Villa’s position is made much more difficult by the fact that both players’ contract expire at the end of the season, however, meaning that they are free to talk to clubs over the potential of moving on a bosman deal from January – a situation that had led to speculation that Villa would be tempted to cash in.
With a potential relegation battle for Lambert to contend with, however, he appears determined to keep both Vlaar and Delph in the West Midlands, despite the fact that both have missed significant portions of the season with injury.
