Wide receiver gives has high expectations for the team in 2013.
While appearing on ESPN’s First Take, Roddy White was asked what the expectations were within the team for next season.
White then gave a simple answer to the question, “Super Bowl or bust.”
The intention is clear in Atlanta for what they want to achieve, and know that the opportunity for them to win a ring is getting smaller every season, due to the league’s salary cap system playing a role in a team’s long term capability of holding onto star players.
Having reached the playoffs for the last three seasons, the Falcons are consistently being touted as a Super Bowl winning team, and every year they have come up short, despite the immense talent on their roster.
This year the expectations will once again be sky high, as the team were able to bring Tony Gonzalez out of retirement for another season, to fulfill the tight end role.
They were also able to sign elite running back Steven Jackson to a three-year deal, to make it the most potent offence in the game, which also includes play making receivers Julio Jones and Harry Douglas.
While it will seem likely that the team will have to play rivals San Francisco and Seattle at some point during next seasons playoffs, Atlanta know that this must be the season they put a Super Bowl run together.
That pressure will either give them more motivation to succeed this season, or the pressure can have an adverse effect on the Falcons as the playoffs come round.
