Champions League football is back and the first-leg of the first semi-final gets underway as Atletico Madrid host Chelsea at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.
This is relatively uncharted territory for the Spaniards who have reached this stage just once in their history and have never made the final.
For the Blues it is a different story, as they lifted the trophy back in 2012 and have also made the semi-finals five times since Roman Abramovich bought the club back in 2003.
Their manager Jose Mourinho is also an experienced coach in this competition, having won the tournament twice – with FC Porto in 2004 and then Inter Milan in 2010.
Yet in Diego Simeone’s Atletico they face not only a side in great form, but also a team that have a great record against English sides.
No club from England has ever won at the Calderon and this season Atleti are unbeaten at home in La Liga and the Champions League.
One of the big talking points has been whether goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will play for the hosts, as the Belgian is on-loan from Stamford Bridge, but UEFA have said that there is no clause preventing him taking to the pitch.
Simeone is set to welcome back Arda Turan to the starting XI as well and top-scorer Diego Costa continues to show good form.
The away side have not lost in Spain since 2005 however, but will have to play this game without Branislav Ivanovic (suspended), Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah (both cup-tied), whilst Eden Hazard remains a doubt with a calf problem.
