Aaron Hernandez placed on suicide watch after murder conviction
Hernandez was once on track to become one of the richest tight ends in the NFL after signing a five-year, $40 million contract extension with the Patriots.
That contract has been terminated since Hernandez’s indictment in 2013, and he has been forced to pay for a plethora of attorneys, which has made him run low on cash.
One of his attorneys confirmed this and pointed out that he had only been paid one year of his Patriots extension.
Hernandez is also paying for support for his fianceé and two-year-old daughter, and he is currently being sued by Odin Lloyd’s mother.
Lloyd was murdered by Hernandez, and his mother is trying to seize control of Hernandez’s assets and possibly win up to $5 million.
Hernandez will also face an uphill battle since he has been forbidden from selling his car by a judge.
It remains to be seen how Hernandez will be able to handle his financial woes now that he is adjusting to life in the big house.
