Tomas Berdych has produced one of the biggest upsets of the Australian Open after destroying Rafael Nadal to book a place in the semi-finals.
The seventh-seed was throughly impressive in his 6-2, 6-0, 7-6 win over the out-of-sorts Spaniard.
Berdych has not beaten Nadal in their past 17 clashes, but the big-serving Czech began to believe of an incredible win after breaking his opponent in just the fourth game of the match.
Berdych continued to produce consistently good tennis for the remainder of the set, while Nadal looked a shadow of himself, producing a number of unforced errors.
The Czech broke Nadal again in the eighth game of the set to gain the early upper hand.
Nadal made a number of errors in a horrid second set in which he failed to trouble the scoreboard, going down 6-0.
The Spaniard finally found some form in the third set and pushed Berdych all the way, going down in a tiebreak to exit the tournament at the quarter-final stage.
Berdych will now face either Andy Murray or Nick Kyrgios in the semi-finals.
