Wojciech Szczesny put in some extra work whilst others rested.
Dropped Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny trained with the club’s Under 21 this week, report the Sun, but the Gunners have insisted that the Pole was only putting in some extra work on the training ground whilst his first team counterparts rested up.

Szczesny lost his place in Arsene Wenger’s Premier League starting line up for the victory over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium last weekend, with David Ospina stepping in, and the Polish international had a bust up with his manager after being caught smoking in the showers following the defeat at Southampton last month.
Speaking about his decision to drop Szczesny, however, Wenger has insisted that the decision was purely for the player’s own protection:
“I think he is a great goalkeeper and will have a great career but his form goes a little bit. I took Jens Lehmann out like that.”
“He has played many games and sometimes when you have a little breather it helps you to refocus and get yourself together.”
“Just before Southampton he had a very good game at West Ham and was man of the match.”
