Chelsea have announced that new arrival Baba Rahman will wear the No.17 shirt in the Premier League.
The Blues confirmed the signing of the Ghana international left-back from Augsburg yesterday, with the club quoting an undisclosed fee and reports claiming that he cost Chelsea around €30m.

Rahman has taken the squad number left vacant by Mohamed Salah’s transfer to Roma last month. Eden Hazard, Jose Bosingwa and Emmanuel Petit have previously sported the same shirt at Chelsea.

“I have made this decision and it is really not easy because I felt good at Augsburg,’ Rahman told Augsburg’s official website upon finalising his switch to Stamford Bridge.
“But the move to England is a very big opportunity for me to play at a top club like Chelsea, so I would like to take this step. I am really looking forward to playing with many great footballers.”
The 21-year-old only joined Augsburg for €2.5m from second-tier German club Greuther Furth last summer, but caught the eye of several Premier League clubs in his 31 impressive Bundesliga outings.
