Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea is ready to turn his back on a move to Real Madrid and sign a new deal to remain at Old Trafford, according to reports.
De Gea look set for a dream move to the Bernabeu during the summer transfer window, but required paperwork to complete the deal was sent in a minuted past deadline.
According to The Mirror, De Gea is now prepared to commit his future to the Red Devils and will reportedly sign a £200k-a-week deal.
The report suggests the 24-year-old does not blame United for the failed deal, and De Gea and agent Jorge Mendes met Louis van Gaal for talks on Thursday.
It is understood De Gea could return be thrown straight back into the United side that will face Liverpool on Saturday at Old Trafford.
De Gea has been sidelined by Van Gaal for all of the club’s six matches this season with the Dutchman believing the Spanish international was not in the right mindframe to start the campaign.
