Bale has spent two seasons in Spain since his £85m move from Tottenham, but the Welshman is set to make a return to the Premier League at Old Trafford.
According to Metro, the Red Devils are planning to did deep into its coffers to bring the Welshman to the club.
Bale is believed to be unhappy at the La Liga giants after being made a scapegoat for Real Madrid’s trophyless season.
The 25-year-old was poor in front of goal during Real Madrid’s second-leg semi-final clash against Juventus on Wednesday and the notoriously demanding fans of the Los Merengues were audibly unhappy with Bale’s performance.
Bale has hit the back of the net 17 times and made 10 assists in all competitions this season, leaving many to believe that the criticism he has received to be unwarranted.
