Christian Falk, Sport Bild reporter, has revealed that Ed Woodward, Manchester United executive vice-chairman, and Louis van Gaal, the club manager, are in disagreement over who their next major summer target should be.
According to Falk, Woodward favours Real Madrid‘s Gareth Bale, while van Gaal remains intent on signing Bayern Munich‘s Thomas Muller.

LVG has ordered Woodward to cough up a mega £70.7m for Muller, but the Red Devils chief is unconvinced that the Bundesliga giants will entertain offers for the Germany forward.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that the striker is ‘unsellable’ and may spend his entire playing career at the Allianz Arena:
“Thomas is unsellable,” as quoted by the Express. “I have a feeling that he’ll never leave Bayern Munich.
“When Thomas retires at some point, we hope that we can keep him at the club, if he wants.”

Woodward, therefore, believes that Bale could be the more attainable of the world-class duo.
Either way, all reports are pointing towards the Red Devils spending huge cash before the close of the summer window.
