Ngata has been a key component of the Ravens defense since entering the league in 2006, and their run defense continued to be a force this year.
The Ravens defense had to cope without him for their last four games of the regular season though as Ngata was suspended for testing positive for Adderall.
He was able to return for the playoffs, but the Ravens were eliminated in the Divisional Round of the playoffs by the eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.
However, the Ravens defensive tackle is due $8.5 million in base salary for the 2015 season.
Due to this high amount, the Ravens are prepared to release him if he cannot agree to a pay cut.
The Ravens are all too familiar with roster turnover as they saw many key players from their 2012 Super Bowl squad leave, including linebacker Ray Lewis retiring.
The five-time Pro Bowler may be joining a different team or retiring soon as well.
