Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti called a press conference on Monday to discuss an ESPN article that accuses the team of trying to hide video evidence of former running back Ray Rice punching his future wife. The story alleges the team pressured the NFL to give Rice a lenient suspension. ESPN also reported that Bisciotti offered Rice a job in the front office after cutting him, which Rice believed was an attempt at buying his silence.
The Ravens released a statement last week saying the ESPN report had “numerous errors, inaccuracies, false assumptions and, perhaps, misunderstandings,” but have not yet discussed it.
“I’m willing to apologize forever,” Bisciotti said. “But apologies aren’t going to get us anywhere.”
More details on the press conference to follow.
