Both clubs confirm that Luis Suarez will move to the Camp Nou, where he will sign a five-year contract.
Barcelona will sign Uruguay striker Luis Suarez on a five-year contract from Liverpool for a fee in the region of £75m.
The deal, which should be completed following a medical next week, will be Liverpool’s most lucrative player sale of all time, breaking the record that was set when Fernando Torres moved to Chelsea for £50m in January 2011.
Suarez, who joined Liverpool from Ajax for £22.8m on the day that Torres departed Anfield, scored 82 goals in 133 senior appearances for the Reds.
His best season was the 2013-14 campaign, during which he scored 31 goals and provided 12 assists in 33 Premier League matches.
Suarez will not be allowed to play for Barca until late October because he is serving a four-month worldwide ban for biting defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay’s 1-0 win over Italy at the World Cup in Brazil.
FIFA upheld the ban on Thursday, after Suarez and the Uruguayan FA launched appeals.
