Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Arda Turan for Atletico Madrid in a £29m transfer.
The Turkish international midfielder had been rumored to be headed to Premier League clubs, but he has decided upon staying in La Liga.
Despite drawing interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, Turan’s agent has confirmed that the 28-year-old will be headed to FC Barcelona.

FC Barcelona’s official Twitter account announced the arrangement on Monday, and the 28-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona were able to pull off this deal despite having a transfer embargo that will be in effect until January 2016. Turan will not be able to play for the club until the ban is lifted.
Turan had expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid after spending his last four seasons with them.
His 2014-15 season was somewhat underwhelming, as he only scored three goals, although he contributed six assists.
How he fits into a team which contains the prolific trio of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez remains to be seen.
