Xavi had been tipped to make the move to MLS this summer, but reports in Qatar are claiming that Al Saad are in pole position to land his signature thanks to their enormous offer.
Al Saad will also make the 35-year-old an ambassador to the Aspire Foundation, who want the children of Qatar to take up football in time for the 2022 World Cup.
The deal will also give the Spaniard the chance to study for his coaching badges before heading back to Europe.
