How Barca are expected to start in the crucial second-leg at the Nou Camp.
It’s the second-leg of one of the biggest ties in the Champions League last-16 as Manchester City travel to Spain to take on Barcelona.
The Catalans are wounded after a shock defeat in La Liga at the weekend to Real Vallodolid and that is now two losses in three matches for Gerardo Martino’s side.
Yet they hold a two goal advantage from the first-leg at the Etihad Stadium and City have it all to do to turn that around and here is the Barca starting XI we expect Martino to field.
GK – Victor Valdes
The undisputed No.1 at the Nou Camp, although will be replaced in the summer as a free transfer to AS Monaco appears to beckon for the Spaniard.
RB – Dani Alves
Scored the second goal against the Citizens in the first-leg and although is a more attacking option than Martin Montoya, is also hugely experienced at this level.
CB – Gerard Pique
Despite Barca quite often being accused of having a shaky defence, Pique is certainly world-class and is likely to be tasked with marking Alvaro Negredo.
CB – Javier Mascherano
This could be the area that City need to exploit if they want to win in Catalonia, as Mascherano is far from convincing as a centre-back and also does not lend height to the role.
LB – Jordi Alba
Has struggled with injury this term and Brazilian left-back Adriano has filled in for much of the campaign, but is still regarded as one of the finest full-backs in European football.
