How Barca could lineup against the current league leaders.
It’s a huge game in La Liga as the title race hots up with the second El Clasico of the season, when Real Madrid host Barcelona at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Currently Madrid top the table and hold a four point advantage over their Catalan rivals, meaning this game could play a big part in who eventually lifts the trophy.
Here is how fanatix thinks the visitors will lineup in the Spanish capital.
GK – Victor Valdes
As always the 31-year-old will start between the sticks as Valdes looks to end an extremely successful period with Barca, as the goalkeeper is leaving the club in the summer.
RB – Dani Alves
It’s been a great season for the Brazilian who continues to maraud forward on the right flank at every available opportunity and should get the nod ahead of Martin Montoya.
CB – Gerard Pique
Has recovered sufficiently from a slight knock to come back into the starting XI at the prime time, as the Spain international provides the defensive grit Gerardo Martino’s side often lacks.
CB – Javier Mascherano
Despite the fact Marc Bartra has been impressive when given the chance by the head coach, Martino seems to prefer Mascherano at the back – despite the Argentine being vulnerable in the position.
LB – Jordi Alba
Injury this campaign has limited Alba’s opportunities at left-back, but the Spaniard is back in form again at the moment and will be used ahead of Adriano.
