La Liga champions begin pursuit of Blues youngster Ruben Loftus-Creek.
Barcelona are looking to make a bid for promising young Chelsea talent Ruben Loftus-Clark, after the 17-year old impressed scouts during the side’s exhibition match against Manchester City in New York last month.
The midfielder was signed to a long-term deal with the Europa League champions in order to fend off interest from the Catalan club as well as Manchester City earlier this year, but the move has not deterred Barcelona’s attempts at signing the England youth international before next season, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
While the young talent is not expected to be part of Jose Mourinho’s first team plans next season, letting the exciting young talent leave the club without being given an opportunity seems unlikely at this moment in time, and no doubt would expect a large fee should Barcelona carry on in their chase.
This news comes at the same time that talks were held between the two teams regarding a shock £20m offer for Spanish striker Fernando Torres, who has become a surprise target for the La Liga champions.
