The Catalan giants may be considering selling current left-back Jordi Alba to Arsenal or Manchester City this January, and seem to want Swiss international Rodriguez as his replacement.
The 22-year-old is one of the best young players in the German top flight at the moment, having impressed greatly in the last year or so, catching the eye for Switzerland at this summer’s World Cup.
United and Liverpool could also do with signings in that part of the pitch, but Barcelona now look to be stepping up their interest in the player.
