Barcelona look set to scupper Manchester United’s move for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado with a £30m bid for the Colombian, according to the Daily Express.
The Catalan giants have been strongly linked with the talented World Cup wide-man for much of this summer, though United and other Premier League clubs have also shown a strong interest in signing him in this transfer window.
Cuadrado was a superb performer for Fiorentina last season, notching up 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions before continuing to impress with some dazzling displays on the biggest stage of all this summer – the World Cup.
United are known to be in the market for new signings out wide, but it looks increasingly likely that Barcelona will strike a deal for the talented 26-year-old as new manager Luis Enrique looks to continue spending after bringing in big names such as Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic already this summer.
It had been suggested that Cuadrado is seen as the ideal replacement for Dani Alves at the Nou Camp, with Enrique keen to adopt a new 3-5-2 formation this season.
