Manchester United are even closer to reaching a deal with Barcelona for winger Pedro, as he has completed the first part of his medical exam at Old Trafford.
Italian website Gazzetto dello Sport confirmed the completion of Pedro’s first medical with the Red Devils.
Man United are planning to offer Barcelona £22m for the 28-year-old winger.
Pedro struggled for first-team action following the arrival of Luis Suarez, with the front three of Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi preferred.
Pedro still managed 11 goals in the 2014-15 season despite making only 15 starts, and he helped lead the La Liga giants to the UEFA Champions League title.
The Spanish international would instantly strengthen the Red Devils’ scoring attack, as he was part of a prolific Barcelona attack that eventually pushed him down the depth chart.
He has scored a total of 98 goals in his last six seasons, and he offers versatility with his ability to play both forward and midfielder.
Man United have been keen to add a scoring threat to fill the void left by Robin van Persie. Pedro would surely be a solid addition to the United line-up and would provide striker Wayne Rooney with plenty of support.
