This is because the Copa America, which kicks off on June 11, is demanding that all European based players be released for national team duty by May 29.
With the Champions League coming to its conclusion on June 6, this could mean that a number of top stars could miss out should they make it all the way.
However, FIFA are now suggesting that respective clubs open negotiations with the South American countries in a bid to sort out any potential rift.
Barcelona are already pencilled in to take on Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey final on May 30, meaning that they and the likes of Dani Alves, Javier Mascherano and Claudio Bravo may miss two very crucial games in the club’s season.
