The Catalans want to ensure that the Uruguayan leaves behind his biting instincts.
Spanish giants Barcelona are set to offer their top transfer target Luis Suarez a hefty salary package worth £160,000 per week for five years and are also ready to back him in fighting his bite-ban, according to the Mirror.
However, Barca’s commitments to the Uruguayan will be subject to a bite clause in his contract that will require the 27-year old to mend his ways on the football pitch.
The Catalan giants are concerned about the continuing trend of bites from Suarez, who has now received sanctions on three separate occasions for chewing on his opponent.
Barca are aware that they will need to protect the club’s image in the footballing fraternity and also appease their fans, and thus have put up a structured package for Suarez, which will have the Liverpool star behave better on and off the pitch.
The Uruguayan’s move from Anfield to the Camp Nou is far from a done deal though as Barcelona are unwilling to match the Reds’ £80 million asking price yet, and are only contemplating a £50 million offer in total.
